This meme represents the husband in the story “Bread” when he starts crying after the baby dies. At the beginning of the story , we learn that his previous wife died during childbirth. Therefore , he has a lot of events that have happened in his life that has affected him . When the new baby dies, he feels the same emotion all over again and finally breaks down .  He finally lets out all his grief that he has held in his life and the wife comforts him in this time , as he finally has someone to talk to.

This image is usually being used for the situations when a person wants to show that he is smart. This meme goes with our story because in the story the young lady who is not rich, actually makes a wise decision and marry an old rich man that can cover her and her parents lives and help them survive. And also, the old guy does not ask for her love which is great, and she doesn’t have to pretend she loves him!

Ross I’m fine meme: we used the Ross I’m fine meme because everything in the husbands life is not going right in the beginning. His first wife and child died in child birth and his second child died a week after being born. He has a lot of grief that he’s keeping to himself in order to be strong even though he actually isn’t. Similar to Ross in the tv show Friends, where the meme originated, who is acting as if everything is all right when it’s not.

Kylie pregnant meme: this meme shows how the protagonist got married to the guy and had a child for her own well being and her family’s. She wouldn’t have been able to take care of her parents by herself so she had to think of the future.

Evil kermit is a screenshot of Kermit the Frog talking to his evil doppelgänger Constantine who advises him to do lazy and selfish things. It became viral when on November 6th, 2016, Twitter user @aaannnnyyyyaaaa tweeted the screenshot with the caption “me: sees a fluffy dog / me to me: steal him” (shown below).
When applied to the story of Bread you can understand the inner thoughts of the main character

The meme used is the distracted boyfriend meme to represent what the woman in the short story “Bread” by Michael Crummey wants out of marriage. She gets married for money, a stable home and the opportunity to provide her parents with a home. Even if she might prefer to marry a person her own age, she chooses convenience and safety over love.

2 Buddy Christ meme

The meme used is Jesus with a smile represents how the bag of flour is important to the growth of the love between the two characters in the story “Bread” by Micheal Crummey”. Therefore, without the bag of flour there won’t be love anymore.

This meme was inspired by the short story “Bread”. It is a loaf of bread that is staring at a computer happily and then looks in shock after learning something that makes them uncomfortable. This represents the main character in the story who is hesitant to fall in love with her husband because he is so much older than her.
